The youth of Saisi of Krobo Odumase have installed and presented their overlord to Chief of the community, Asafoatse Anor Apo III and his council of elders in a ceremony held at the palace on the 3rd of July, 2016.
The youth, led by Mr. Amanor Teye told Asafoatse Anor Apo III and elders of the four gates of the Clan
that their efforts as leaders of the community is recognized and they as youth have taken the move to install their leader they will serve as collaborators to compliment what the chief and elders have been doing.
Mr. Simon Peter Nuertey, who is married with two children works as a material officer for the Avenor branch of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
In a coronation ceremony held at Asafoatse Anor Apo’s palace, the heads of the four gates performed a routine tradition to initiate him into the Clan Council. Mr. Simon Nuertey and the community members exchanged oaths to confirm his leadership Title “Nihewiamatse”.
In his inaugural speech during his coronation, he promised the community a submissive leadership.
The chief of the community in addressing the newly installed chief, expressed worry about how a section of the youth, mostly outside Saisi Community are holding the entire community members to ransom with their actions.
According to Asafoatse Anor, they have set up smoking “gettos” and from there they terrorize the most vulnerable in society. He therefore tasked the youth leader to help combat the act because it does not speak well of the community.
The involvement of the youth in local governance keeps dwindling hence the decision to install Mr. Simon Nuertey to mobilize the youth both outside and within to be proactive in solving the problems of the Community and the welfare of the youth.
