Ghana Premier League side, Accra Hearts of Oak did not sign Ada born Great Olympics striker, Dotse Agbashie not because he failed medicals but the technical team headed by Japanese born American, Kenichi Yatsuhashi preferred Sam Ayew Yeboah due to what they say is his massive experience.
After Agbashie’s much publicised move hit the rocks, local media reports claimed the Olympics arrow head who drilled eight goals in last season’s league failed medicals and that led to the cancellation of the 3-year contract offered him.
But Adacommunityonline.com upon further investigation, can reveal that the management and technical team opted for Sam Yeboah because he is former Ghana Premier league goal king, got international exposure, lots of achievements and also financially cheaper than Agbashie.
Dotse as affectionately known in Ada started his football career with Kasseh based side, Dangme United joining second tier side ‘D’ International before later signing for Great Olympics where his second tier topping goals powered the Accra side to promotion into the Ghana Premier League where he also shone last season despite the club’s relegation.
Many top clubs in the Ghanaian elite division enquired for Agbashie’ signature but he opted for his childhood club, Hearts of Oak. Unfortunately the move collapsed due to the decision of the Phobians to choose Sam Ayew Yeboah.
