
Presiding member of the Ada East District Assembly of the Greater Accra Region, Alhaji Adjovu Ayisah, has been officially presented to the Ada paramountcy as Islamic Chief of Ada on Friday 26th February, 2016 at Nene Ada’s palace at Big Ada.
His stool name is Sariki Alhaji Adjovu Ayisah I. He is married to three wives with ten children.

The 59 year old works with Ada Rural Bank, Kasseh branch as the operations manager. He was elected as the Ada East District Assembly Presiding Member since early last year having taken the role as a government appointee.
Alhaji Adjovu Ayisah is a native of Ada Kabiawe but converted to Islamic religion, an act referred to in Islam as “tuba”.
The leaders of the various islamic communities ( zongo) in the Ada East and West districts , last year, nominated, elected and inskined him as overlord to oversee and coordinate activities in the Ada Islam communities.

Bonded by elders of the Islamic communities amidst sounding of “odondo” rhythms and dancing, he was officially presented and outdoored to the Ada paramountcy for acceptance.
Nene Owusie Sanakey IV, Asafoatsengua of Kabiawe and the right hand man of Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, Paramount chief of Ada received Sariki Adjovu on behalf of the paramountcy.
In his acceptance speech, Asafoatsengua Owusie expressed his gratitude and said the move to install a supreme chief for all the zongo communities is in the right direction, and it will ameliorate what the chiefs of Ada have already been doing.
He advised the “Sariki” to listen to his elders and consult them before taking decisions. He also asked all Ada local chiefs in the various communities in Ada to refer any case brought to them from Islamic settlers under their jurisdiction to the Islamic leader for settlement.
