The presbytery at their 44th Session held at the Zimmerman cathedral Odumase Krobo elected Rev. Samuel Odjelua as the new chairman for the Dangme Tongu presbytery. The chairman- elect, Rev. Odjelua’s five -year -term begins at the end of August 2016 immediately after his swearing in ceremony. Rev Fred Nuertey Ayertey is the outgoing chairman for the presbytery. Presbyterian churches from Asesewa in the upper Manya Krobo District, Somanya in the Yilo, Dodowa or Shai (se), Sege in the Ada West, Kasseh, Ada Foah in the Ada East District and others from North and South Tongu Districts of the Volta Region attended. The outgoing chairman, Rev. Fred Nuer gave a Sermon on the theme: The Annoying of the Holy Spirit / Christ our saviour. Hon Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Constituency Ebenezer Okletey Teilabi was given an honourable position to chair the function. The chairman lauded the gathering on how they were able to conduct a peaceful election within the church and proposed that it is replicated in the coming November 2016 elections. Certificates were given on merit.
