Come June 2016, some Communities in the Ada East District whose dwellers face water problem will get frequent flow of water as drilling of boreholes begins. In an interview with the contractor in charge of FAMILY WATER Company, Mr. Wisdom Otu, at the site in Pute Community, he said his company and the main contractor will provide the beneficiary communities with wholesome water by June. Mr. Otu said the member of Parliament for Ada Constituency is supporting the project with her share of the common fund. “We are starting with eight boreholes in Ada East. After we dug and get the water, the main contractor will follow. He will install solar panels which will serve as energy to pump the water into a water reservoir so that water will flow every day without any production cost” He added. This is the initiative of the MP. Mr Wisdom Otu disclosed. He assured that the water will be tested at a laboratory before handing over. In a telephone discussion with the MP Hon. Comfort Doeyo Kudjo Ghansah, she said she is using her common fund to finance the project so her constituents get safe drinking water. She mentioned Pute, Kwalakpoyom-kopewayo, Tojeh and Amlakpo as the beneficiary communities. The rest are Midie, Aminapa and Totope. According to the DCE, Hon. John Nurudeen Ahortu, the Amlakpo water system will go a long way to help the farmers do irregational farming. Recently, some youth of the Ada West District hit the principal streets of Sege to demonstrate against the authorities for scarcity of water. But the MP for Ada East Constituency Hon. Doeyoe Cudjoe Ghansah have been proactive to arrest the problem before any protest at her constituency. Members in the various communities do not get frequent flow of water and what makes their problem compounded is the tap regulators opening the taps at midnight thereby creating bed room problems between couples. Now that there is going to be water, they know that problem will be solved.
