One of the coastline towns, Ada in the Greater Accra Region has successfully graduated twenty (20) youth security personnel under the National Youth Employment Agency (NYEA) and have employed them to work as police assistants in the Ada East District.
In what seemed like a short ceremony held at the Assembly Hall of the Ada East District Assembly to let go the officers to the District police Command, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. John Nurudeen Ahortu prevailed on them to be loyal, hardworking and keep secret to their clients.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nicholas Addo on his part also advised the newly recruited security post men to be focused and vigilant of friends and colleague they will associate with in the various police stations where they will be posted to serve.
He again advised them to respect the officers at the police stations so they can teach them the security techniques.
“Whilst you are doing this job for the next twenty four (24) months, make sure you advance on your academics so you can qualify to join the main service,” He added.
The Youth Employment Coordinator for the District, Mr. Abdul Karim Abass, assured the security personnels under the NYEA who expressed interest in joining the fire station summing up to forty (40) youth across the District would go through a screening process at the districts’ fire station; Tetsonya, which would result to twenty (20) of them continuing the journey for training.
