A brawl broke out in the South African parliament on Tuesday after the speaker directed security officers to eject opposition MPs who were seen as being disruptive.
The brawl, which is the second in parliament this month, occurred when the left-wing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) had attempted to stop President Jacob Zuma from speaking, BBC reports.
The MPs threw punches and bottles of water at each other as the opposition MPs were being wrestled out of the chamber.
The EFF has described Mr Zuma as an “illegitimate” ruler who should step down.
This comes on the back of a court ruling in March which stated that Mr. Zuma violated the constitution by failing to pay back public money used on his mansion.
At the end of April, another court ruled that Mr Zuma should be charged with corruption in connection with a multi-billion dollar arms deal the government negotiated in 1999.
Mr. Zuma, whose term is due to end in 2019, has however denied any wrongdoing.
