KotokoKumasi Asante Kotoko have closed the gap on the top of the Premier League table after taking full advantage of slip-ups by the top three.

Leaders, Hearts of Oak drew with second-placed Aduana Stars in Dormaa, whiles third-placed Wa All Stars also drew with Ashantigold at Len Clay.

At the Baba Yara, Amos Frempong’s minute penalty ensured Kotoko continued with their fine form by beating ten-man Inter Allies to maintain their grip on 4th and also close the gap between them and Hearts to only two points.

In the top of the table clash in Aduana, Godfred Saka put Aduana in front with a powerful free kick in the 20th minute.
Aduana held on for so long in their quest to displaced Accra Hearts of Oak from the top of the Premier League table but they capitulated in the 66th minute.

The Aduana Stars defence left Cosmos Dauda unmarked and he tapped in coolly to preserve Hearts of Oak’s remarkable unbeaten away record.

Third-placed Wa All Stars maintained their position on the table with a second successive draw with a goalless draw against Ashantigold in Obuasi. All Stars are now level on points with Kotoko but they are ahead on goal difference.

Dreams FC returned to winning with a 2:1 win over Medeama FC, which has moved them up to 5th.

Dreams dropped home points last Wednesday but they were in no mood for any setback as Lawson Bekui fired them in front as early as the 4th minute.

Aaron Amoah doubled the lead midway in the first half, but Akwasi Donsu gave Medeama hope by reducing the deficit in the 60th minute. The goal set up a tense finale, but Dreams held on till the end.

On Saturday, Berekum Chelsea defeated Bechem United by a lone goal, which lifted them up to 6th on the table. ……..scored the only goal of the match.

At Sogakope, Emmanuel Boateng was the hero as WAFA pipped Techiman City by a lone goal. His 8th minute goal was enough to give WAFA all three points, which has taken them to 7th on the table.

At the lower level of the table, Dwarfs are still bottom after surrendering a one goal lead in Sekondi.

Hasaacas came from a goal down to beat Dwarfs 2:1, which has taken them up against Medeama, Ashantigold and Bechem United.

Justice Mensah stunned Hasaacas by giving Dwarfs the lead in the 13th minute, but Eric Bekoe cancelled it in the 56th minute before Samuel Afful snatched a win for his side five minutes from time.

The match between Liberty Professionals and New Edubiase has been postponed to Monday after the a heavy downpour in Accra made the pitch unsuitable for the match.
