Milo Champions LeagueTen Basics Schools made up of both private and public schools have booked their qualification to represent their respective regions during the national finals of the 2016 MILO U-13 Champions League which is scheduled to come on from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2016 at the Paa Joe Park, KNUST.

Sakasaka Primary (Northern), Samatigu Presby Primary (Upper West), Gani Primary (Upper East), Fountain Gate International School (Brong Ahafo), Ofinso Amoawi (Ashanti), St. Philips (Western), West Ridge International Primary (Central), Tordzinu Primary (Volta), Jesus Cares Academy (Greater Accra) and last year’s winners Bepong Methodist Primary from the Eastern Region completes the list schools who will be representing their respective regions during the national finals..

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the final zonal event at the Akatsi College of Education, Miss. Marilyn Ofori, the Category Development Manager (Beverages) of Nestle Ghana Limited congratulated and praised both players and coaches of all forty-eight participating schools for putting up sterling performances during the four zonal events held on different dates across the country and expressed the willingness of the brand to continue to give its targets audience experiences that will help them realize their dreams of becoming future champions.

“Our tagline as a brand is Energy Food Drink for Future Champions and so we will continue to showcase our strength in building these young talents to become champions by organizing competitions such as the MILO® Champions League to ensure that whatever values that they are learning in sports will be translated into other spheres of their lives,” she said.

She further wished all ten qualified schools the best of luck in their preparations and promised them the best of soccer experience during the national finals.

The event which is expected to attract top management officials from Nestle Ghana Limited, Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana Football Association, former national team players, tournament icon Stephen Appiah and a host of others will be telecast live on GTV and GTV Sports Plus.

Meanwhile Bepong Methodist Primary School who won Zone four event and subsequently the national finals last year failed to defend their Zone title after losing to Tordzinu Primary from the Volta region during the finals of their Zonal event. After a pulsating goalless draw game, Tordzinu won by 7 goals to 6 in the penalty shootouts. The Zone was made up of twelve schools drawn from the Eastern, Volta and Greater Accra Regions.

This year’s event is built on four core values namely FOCUS, DETERMINATION, TEAMWORK, DISCIPLINE AND RESPECT.

Nestle Ghana, through its flagship brand, Milo has been contributing to the development of sports and education in Ghana. Through its partnership with the Ghana Education Service, they have over the years helped nurture the talents of most school pupils who have gone on to play for the Black Stars and the other junior national teams.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the
shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
