The Komenda Sugar Factory completed the bagging of 100 sugar for sale on Monday.
The bags of sugar are expected to hit the market soon, the Central Regional Minister, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, said at a people’s forum in Cape Coast in the Central Regional.
The display of the products was a subtle criticism of the opposition New Patriotic Party who questioned the viability of the factory after it emerged that the factory was shut down two days after it was commissioned by the president.
Ricketts-Hagan said government was committed to reviving collapsed factories and building new ones to create thousands jobs.
The bags of sugar were packaged in white sacks with inscription “Komenda Sugar Company Limited LTD, White Sugar, 50kg, Made in Ghana.”
The company is expected to shut down for routine maintenance later this month and resume operation in November.
