
MTN, the leading mobile telecommunications company in Ghana, has presented cash and assorted items to National Chief Imam and three regional Chief Imams in Kumasi, Sekondi-Takoradi and Tamale towards the celebration of this year’s Eidul Fitr.
MTN supported this year Eidul Fitr celebration with cash and items worth GH¢38,000.00. The

donations included cash cheques, bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, boxes of mineral water, crates of assorted soft drinks, rams and MTN airtime.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the residence of the National Chief Imam at Fadama in Accra, Mr. Salihu Abu, Senior Manager for Customer Service and Credit Management, extended greetings from staff and management of MTN and thanked Allah for the strong relationship that exists between the company and the Muslim community.
He indicated that, the celebration of Eidul Fitr is a time when families and communities come together to share and strengthen their relationships.

He said, “as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of MTN Ghana, and in the spirit of Eidul Fitr and our long standing relationship with the Moslem community, we are here to lend our support once more towards the successful celebration of Eidul Fitr as we have done in the past nine years.”
Mr. Abu used the opportunity to inform the leaders and members of the community of the launch of the MTN’s 4G service and encouraged customers to swap their SIM cards to enable them experience the benefits 4G LTE technology.

Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, received the items on behalf National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usumanu Nuhu Sharubutu and the Muslim community.
He thanked MTN for the solidarity and touched on the need for a peaceful co-existence during this election year and prayed Allah’s peace on MTN’s staff and the Company’s operations.
In Tamale, Kumasi and Sekondi-Takoradi the donations were received by Sheikh Alhaji Ahmed Abdul-Salaam (Regional Chief Imam of Tamale), Alhaji Abdul-Moomeen Harun (Regional Chief Imam of Kumasi) and Sheikh Ostaz Ali Hassan Ali (Regional Chief Imam of Sekondi-Takoradi).The donations were presented by MTN senior representatives across the respective regions.
