FOOTIE fans have been left with chills down their spines after a “ghost” appeared behind presenters as they spoke in the Sky Sports studio.
The shadowy figure could be clearly seen walking around the pitch at the Stadium of Light after Sunderland’s home game against Everton on Monday night.
The spooky apparition stalked across the grass in the empty stadium behind pundits Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville.
At first, it seems the mystery figure might simply be a groundskeeper or a steward packing up after the game.
It appears to be tending to the grass on the pitch, pushing something resembling a lawnmower.
But as the pundits give their post-match analysis, the apparition suddenly disappears.
Creeped out footie fans posted messages on social media to make sure they weren’t imagining things.
Another wrote: “Monday Night Football keep and eye out there’s a f****** ghost grounds man in the north east!! #MNF”
And another tweeted: “Ghost groundsman at the stadium of light. The ground needs an exorcism #MNF”
Neither of the pundits have so far commented on the creepy phenomenon, and no rational explanation for it has emerged.
