MTN Ghana Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability wing of MTN Ghana, has been honored by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International for their contributions towards the eradication of Polio in Ghana.
A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to MTN Ghana Foundation during the African Elegance Dinner of Zone 20A Institute of Rotary International in Accra. The Rotary Appreciation Certificate award is presented to individuals and organizations who have contributed to Rotary Foundation in aid of Rotary projects across the world.
Commenting on the award, the Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana, Mrs Cynthia Lumor, expressed appreciation for the recognition given the MTN Ghana Foundation by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. She said, “MTN appreciates the opportunity to contribute towards eradication of polio. Initiatives like this and the scores of other interventions by the MTN Ghana Foundation to enhance the quality of life for millions of Ghanaians with improved access to healthcare, education and economic empowerment are the reasons MTN is recognized for CSR excellence.”
“MTN Ghana Foundation will continue to invest in the lives of Ghanaians because we know it is important to brighten lives and make that difference,” she added.
In Ghana, MTN stands out as an institution focused on brightening the lives of communities in which it operates. Since its establishment in 2007, the MTN Ghana Foundation has invested in over 135 major projects in the areas of education, health and economic empowerment, and has thereby directly improved the lives of approximately 3 million people across the country.
As part of its life brightening projects, MTN Ghana Foundation recently launched the Season III of its award winning CSI project, Heroes of Change, and second edition of the Teacher Improvement Award programme.
Members of the general public are being urged to nominate members from their communities for the Heroes of Change project or pick up the Teacher improvement scholarship forms at any MTN Service Center across the country.
