The disqualified presidential nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom today October 12, 2016, met with the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC).
Reports suggest that Dr Nduom came to the EC headquarters when Mrs Charlotte Osei was having another meeting and demanded to have a discussion with her.
Public Relations Officer of the EC Eric Dzakpasu who confirmed this to Pulse.com.gh said he could not tell what they discussed in the meeting.
“I confirm that Dr Nduom met with the EC Chairperson, but as to the outcome of the meeting, I’m not in the position to say.”
Dr Nduom is part of the twelve presidential aspirants from various political parties who have been disqualified from contesting in the upcoming December polls for anomalies in their nomination forms.
Subsequently, he demanded a five-minute meeting which Dr Nduom believes will help them iron out the reasons why he was disqualified.
Despite the meeting, Dzakpasu said the EC will stand by their decision and move on with other processes for the December polls.
