Interim Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Vincent Sowah-Odotei has won his parliamentary contest and will represent the people of La Dadekotopon in Ghana’s parliament.
Odotei, who contested on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), defeated incumbent and aspiring Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon Nii Amasah Namoale to secure a seat on Ghana’s decision-making body.
At Hearts, Odotei was initially appointed as the head of a three-member strategic committee, but was subsequently uplifted to the position of Managing Director after impressing club owner Togbe Afede XIII
.The news comes as a major shock, as the incumbent was billed as the favourite to triumph having occupied the seat for the last 12 years.
It is currently unknown whether Odotei will still continue as the Managing Director of the Rainbow club or resign after winning a seat in Ghana’s Parliament.
