A.L. Akrofi, the District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee for Ada West District was on Thursday afternoon unanimously confirmed to the position in Sege.
Hon. Akrofi received a rapturous acclamation by assembly members as the substantive District Chief Executive, with an overwhelming 100% endorsement.
A renowned educationist, banker and administrator, Mr. Akrofi was nominated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo last month per the provisions of the constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
The nomination however needed confirmation through a voting process which was duly executed at the District capital, Sege earlier today.
“I am deeply overwhelmed by the peace, unity and harmony that was displayed before, during and after the process. To Hon Akrofi, I say congratulations, and I promise you every little support from me that will help you deliver for our District,” said Divine Otoo Agorhom, the NPP parliamentary caniadte for Sege in last December’s general elections.
“Let me also take this opportunity to urge all of us to try and forgive each other, despite the wranglings that have characterized this process from the beginning,” Mr. Agorhom continue.
He added: “Now let’s all come together and support the Dce, whichever way we can, to bring the much needed development to our people. Once again congratulations Honourable Akrofi. I Wish you all the best.”
