Selected journalists with court reporting background have been taken through a two-day workshop on Judicial Terminology at the Judicial Service Training Centre, Accra.
The purpose was to sharpen their skills in order to present accurate reports from the court especially electoral cases which might come before, during and after the 2016 Ghana general elections.
It came to light that the three arms of Government have press corps except the Judiciary, hence the need to commission it.
In the event, the 2nd Deputy Judicial Secretary, Richard Apietu signed a certificate commissioning the participants to commence reporting from the courts and other activities of the Judiciary as press corps of the third arm of Government.
Adacommunityonline.com reporter, Noah Dameh who is based in Ada and also works for Radio Ada, was privileged to be among the beneficiaries and has been expressing his appreciation for the opportunity.
“Thank you all. Those who read my Facebook posts, those who pass comments and those who offer suggestions. I don’t know you in person but kindly join me to celebrate this honourable recognition as a member of the Judicial Press Corps,” a gratified Dameh posted on social media.
