Presidential transition team inaugurated

President Mahama has inaugurated the Presidential Transition team as required by law  to oversee the peaceful and hitch-free transfer of the affairs of the country from the National Democratic Congress to the New Patriotic Party.

The team will be co chaired by President Mahama and  President elect Nana Akufo Addo.

With the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845) the whole process is expected to be drama free as it has been in the past. Before the law transitions had been characterised by force evictions and administrative lapses.

The Law makes provision for accountability, institutional clarity and structured time for managing the transition process to avoid the challenges experienced in past transitions.

Ken Ofori Atta who is in charge of Finance said the NPP  has a fair idea of where the economy stands through Bawumia’s lectures but the transition process will allow for an in depth knowledge of the state of the economy.
