Emmanuel Adebayor believes Egypt are in a pole position to book a place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Ghana are third in group E, after two matches played-drew against Uganda at home and lost at Egypt to put their quest for a fourth consecutive FIFA World Cup in danger.
Although, there are four matches remaining, the former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker has tipped the Pharaohs of Egypt qualify at the expense of the Black Stars of Ghana.
“Egypt is leading its group, they are closer this time than Ghana to qualify to the World Cup,” he told ON Sport TV channel.
“The Pharaohs’ squad includes a number of exceptional players like Mohamed Salah and Mahmoud Trezeguet along with other special players,” he added.
Adebayor also pointed out Egypt’s successful football history and its African dominance.
“When it comes to football we have mention Egypt and Cameroon,” he added,” he said.
Togo’s captain took part in his side’s game against Egypt in a friendly played in Alexandria in preparation for the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Cameroon. The Pharaohs easily defeated Togo 3-0.
