Following a prophecy by the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B Joshua, predicting a possible terrorist attack on Ghana, the Ghana Police Service has indicated they are taking the prophesy with all the seriousness because of the security implications.

According to them, TB Joshua’s prophecy, regardless of its supernatural nature, is still a useful piece of intelligence.

The Ghana Police Service has thus urged Ghanaians to remain calm in the wake of  the prophecy, during which he requested that his congregation to pray for Ghana and Nigeria in a bid forestall all evil plans.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, the Director of Police Public Relations, Supt Cephas Arthur,  revealed that the considers the prophecy as a serious issue because “Any piece of information that borders on security is worth taking note of.”

He explained that they were also taking this prophecy seriously because of the context and the time it was delivered considering the threat of terror attacks in the sub-region.

“The period in which the prophecy is coming is also crucial… a period in which Burkina Faso has been hit, Cote d’ Ivoire has been hit and there is a general concern being expressed by the members of the general public, security experts and other things.”

Supt. Arthur said he was aware of the contentious nature of the prophecy but said once it had to do with security issues, the security agencies ought to be concerned.

According to him, “Even a whimper from a class one child that gives a hint of disaster, a hint of attacks, a hit of violent crime is enough hint for the police to sit up.”

“We don’t dispel anything just because it’s coming from a class one child or its coming from a fetish priest. You might not know the kind of technical arrangement the person is making to carry out those things even by himself or maybe the kind of information he has picked up for which reason he has spoken in a supernatural way,” he explained further.

Supt Arthur concluded on the matter by stating that Ghana will not lose anything by taking TB Joshua’s prophecy seriously.

“Whatever comes out concerning the security of the state, you don’t lose anything taking it seriously.”
