Confirmation of President’s nominee for Ada East District has been postponed indefinitely, Adacommunityonline.com can exclusively report.
We previously reported that the Presiding member for the Assembly, Hon. Simon Arthur circulated a latter inviting all the assembly members for a special meeting to vote on the Government nominee, Hon. Sarah Pobee on Tuesday 11th July, 2017 which happens to be tomorrow.
However we can now confirm that a second letter signed by the acting District coordinator, Mr. Kwadwo Gyamfi has postponed the meeting to a yet-to-be announced date. The letter stated that, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Ishmael Ashitey who is acting as the District Chief Executive, is embarking on an official assignment outside the country and will therefore not be available.
The order of postponement according to the letter comes from the Regional Coordinating council and the letter is addressed to the presiding members and copied to the nominee, Hon. Sarah Pobee and other stakeholders.
Hon. Pobee, a former Assembly member for the Fiagbedu Electoral Area in Ada-Foah first lost the opportunity to be confirmed DCE when the assembly members unanimously rejected her nomination back in May. She was however re-nominated by President Akufo-Addo for re-consideration.
