The maiden MGTV Miss Ada pageant came to a successful climax last night with Doeyo emerging the beauty queen after beating the three other finalists in a keenly contested event at the studios of MGTV in Kasseh, Ada.
The show started with a goodwill speech by the paramount Chief of Ada, Nene Abraham Kabu Akuaku III read on his behalf by the paramount Queenmother of Ada, Naana Domaaley Dagodzo I.
The first round of the program saw the re-enactment of the events that unfold on the Friday of the Asafotufiam festival which is the firing of musketry and swearing of allegiance to the paramount Chief of Ada.
Doeyo represented the Adibiawem clan whilst Kiki, KK and Maku represented the Terkperbiawem, Lomobiawem and Dangbebiawem clans respectively.
For the records, the main Okorlihi state is made up of five clans with the Kabiawem being the last but because the ladies were four, they portrayed only four on stage. Nene Assem III gave a speech on behalf of the Kabiawem clan.
In the second round, the ladies were given the opportunity to give the audience and viewers their festival messages.
Then came the time for us to know how brilliant these beautiful vessels are. In round three, the ladies picked questions and they indeed all exhibited their supreme intelligence.
In the end, Doeyo topped them after being declared the 2016 MGTV Miss Ada winner. For her prize,
Doeyo took home the brand new car and an amount of GH¢2,000 (two thousand Ghana Cedis).
Maku finished in the first runner-up spot and with it a cash prize of five thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢5,000).
KK and Kiki were 3rd and 4th and went home with GH¢3,000 and GH¢2,000 as their prizes respectively.
In addition, all the contestants were presented with pieces of cloths in addition to their cash prizes.
Sponsors for the program included Mega Water, Alpha Mega Financial Services, Baby Last Spare parts based in Keta, Gardens Club Hotel (Kasseh), Milkland Savings and Loans, Accra, Elshadia Suzy company, Kasseh, Health Star clinic, Kasseh, Ahiama Mpaebor Food Supplies, Kasseh and Puma filling station, Kasseh.
The occasion was graced with the presence of some royalties as well as performances for the night came from the Lions Band (Vision One FM), Destiny Cultural Troupe from Tefle and Kojo Kente, the man who composed the signature song for the pageant.
