Ghanaian boxer, Gulley Cudjoe who has been struck down with stroke has appealed to the sporting and general public to support him financially to make ends meet.
Top boxing referee, Roger Barnor who spoke on behalf of Cudjoe said the boxer has been incapacitated for some time and now things are getting worse, hence the decision to come public and appeal to the boxing fraternity.
He revealed Galley Cudjoe is a disciplined boxer who fought in the Bantamweight division having previously fought at Flyweight and Super Flyweight.
The exciting boxer fought from the gym of Black Panthers owned by the late Emmanuel Teiko Tagoe aka Coach Akese.
Galley who also had world title ambitions often trained under Coach George who also worked with Akesi at the Black Panthers Gym at James Town.
Some of the boxers produced from the Black Panthers Gym are the Clottey brothers, Osumanu Yahaya, Osumanu Akaba, Stephen Okine, Ben Ankrah aka Congo Soldier, Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe and many others including kickboxers.
Referee Barnor said any gift and donation in cash or kind to Galley Cudjoe is welcome for which purpose Naa Darkuah Dodoo, PRO of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has been mandated to receive all donations which can be wired through Airtel Money via the number 0249209538.
