The acting District Commander for the Ghana National Fire Service in the Ada Districts, A.D.O.I Philemon Boabeng is of the view that, giving the Sege District a Fire Service command will save more lives especially on the Tema highway.
Mr. Boabeng explained that accident victims suffer for longer periods before getting assistance due to non-accessibility of fire service officers in Sege, capital of the Ada West District. He insists that his men driving a long way from Big Ada to attend to road accident victims around Sege and it’s environs is not the best and is therefore calling for a fire station in the newly created District at Sege Ada West.
A.D.O.I. Philemon Boabeng suggested this when the Ada District Command of the Ghana National Fire Service held a send-off party for two retiring staff members on Friday at KAMAT Hotel, Big Ada.
Madam Wilhemina Boye and Mr. Kweku Bawuah have both been honoured with citations for hard work and dedication for the nation, Tema Region and the Ada District.
The Commander for Tema Region, A.C.F.O William Yorson and the former District Police Commander for Ada District, John Yamba both reminded the Fire officers of the task ahead to be more vigilant in their duties in the coming elections for a safer nation.
The ceremony brought together fire officers from Sogakope, Ningo, Prampram and Tema Region. The Police of Ada and Sege including decentralised heads of department also graced the occasion.
